Christine Murray (Shorty)

I’m a roller skate coach with experience dating back to 2009, specialising in roller derby and park skating. I offer both face-to-face and online coaching, and I’m dedicated to guiding skaters of all levels on their skating journey.

 

Over the years, I’ve skated with respected roller derby leagues including Canberra Roller Derby League in the ACT, Sun State Roller Derby in Queensland, and Gotham Roller Derby in New York City. I’ve also competed internationally at major events such as the Roller Derby World Cup in Austria and the 20th Asian Roller Skating Championships, where Team Australia won gold.

 

My coaching is shaped by experience across WFTDA and IRRD formats. I bring technical insight, strategy and a global perspective to every session. Throughout my career, I’ve received awards that recognise both competitive achievements and my work as a coach and mentor. These milestones reflect my commitment to helping skaters grow on and off the track.

 

I also share skating knowledge through my YouTube channel, Shorty’s Skate Series, where skaters of all levels can learn, stay inspired and reconnect with the joy of being on wheels.
